Haggens in Snohomish is out of paper, soaps, rice, frozen veggies, and bread — but pretty much has everything else. You’re basically overpaying for the convenience of far less people and, you know, actually having products in stock. I got lots of bacon and ground beef this time. I’ve been out of bacon for weeks! A far more successful venture than WinCo for sure.

Haggen was amazing when they were independent, sucks they got taken over by Albertsons. At least they had stuff, seems like a lot of stores are having issues.

Click N Collect at Fred Meyer is awesome. For now. But they’ll let you pick up beer and wine.

Helpful update! The meat and frozen departments at my local (or at least on the way home from a brief visit to the office) grocer were somewhat depleted today , with an apologetic sign posted concerning their supply chain, but overall most things were well stocked. Picked up some veggies and snacks. Didn’t check TP. Going to Uwajimaya tomorrow to try to find the specific less-common meat I was looking for.

I’ll never tell!
(A ctually I lucked out - I walked into Bartell’s after work and they still had a few packs right up front. And I only took one, because I’m not a hoarder.)

It was not pleasant. Last time I walked out with some cans and not much else.

I used to only shop at Top Foods, because they had awesome products. Now it's more and more becoming Expensive Safewaysons™ with a streamlined -- and limited -- inventory

*bows* I haven’t been in a store of any kind in over a week and the wife only likes the standard Costco stuff, so she’s worried as our supply continues to dwindle. If this keeps up for more than another 6 weeks or so, we will finally be reduced to whatever TP we can find...
Our nanny share friends somehow landed a full Costco pack of TP when the husband was out on a run and happened to go to some random one way down south that was overstocked with it for some reason. I wish he would have let me know, then we’d be good for another couple months and no longer worry about it.

All the fresh produce is stocked well everywhere. Nobody is buying anything with a short shelf life, apparently. We just started eating even healthier because it’s easier to buy fresh produce and we’re home enough to cook it (although I already ate better than my wife because the food at my tech megacorp employer is quite good/healthy (it was like going to a fat camp because they employ nutritionists; I lost over 15lbs just by eating the food there for a meal or two a day)) . The only thing that’s a problem is meat, particularly chicken, which seems to be in short supply everywhere.

Still trapped at home. Car’s still in the body shop. Most of the work should be wrapping up this week.
I’m waiting for the vinyl guy to reinstall the livery and then a clear protective wrap on the doors.

Yeah definitely no shortage of fresh produce. They had an OK supply of poultry in general, but not the easiest stuff like boneless/skinless cuts . Enough to choose from if you prefer bones and fat in your chicken, or whole birds, including turkey and Cornish hens . Plenty of pork and the cheaper cuts of beef, but sold out of the nicer steaks and lamb cuts . Sort of makes sense that people with freezer space to spare might grab those , I guess. No shortage of big roasts.

My dad was apparently able to grab a huge pack of Charmin at Costco yesterday (in the mid-morning, not right at opening). They were doing “limit 1" which presumably helped with hoarders.

From the news it is hard to tell how real the empty grocery stores are. Here in Houston the TP and paper towels are out or low everywhere, but other than that I haven't seen anything completely out. I don't think there is a need to really stock up, but I have 4 kids and if it gets bad we go through food pretty quick. I'm trying to walk the line of being cautious and panicked.

Town and country markets (Ballard market and central market) are pretty well stocked). Costco has stock on paper products
